MLK - Just another smooth talker

Did the media just breeze on past HRC's comments about MLK and LBJ or did I miss the onslaught? How can this be? To characterize MLK role in the Civil Rights Movement as nothing more than an eloquent pipe dream that was only realized by a powerful white man is reprehensible to say the least.

What Happened Bill?

With all the talk of "False Hope" and fairy tales, I thought I would take the time to ask Bill....What Happened? What happened to believing in America and the American Dream? It is in fact a dream. Should we not hope? Should we not dream? And whatever happened to "a place called hope"?

Who Am I Kidding?

After saying in my first post that I would try to be impartial I'm getting ready to kiss that theory goodbye.

HRC makes me physically ill.

There I said it. Shew, I feel better now. Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly proud of my inability to give her the benefit of the doubt. There is just a creepy animatronic personality that only gets magnified the longer she campaigns. Whats with the fake, psycho laugh? I know the media is now on a "Hillary's got it rough" spiel , but she brings it on herself. I think the reason we see that side of her portrayed all the time is because, that is who she really is.

I think this is a common personality flaw in women of her age and ambitions. We have all had that, entered the workforce in the 70's, had to fight for my place, backstabbing female boss. When they entered the workforce it was not always pleasant and they have this battle scar mentality. The problem with this type of thinking, you become paranoid. Everyone is after your job. Everyone wants to knock you off the ladder. While those types tend to succeed (obtain the promotion, big office) they also sacrifice their humanity. It is not possible to constantly have a "me against everybody else " viewpoint and be able to truly place others before yourself. Which is what we are asking the president to do.

Also there is the fact that she stayed with a husband that cheated on her umpteen times, what a good message to her daughter. Lovely. No, I'm not all for divorce. And if I though for one minute she stayed because she believed in marriage or really did love him, I would have a different view. We all know she stayed for this exact moment in time. That tells me that she puts the power of being president before her own true feelings and the welfare of her daughter. That's scary.

It also scares me to continue the Bush/Clinton trade-off of the White House every 4-8 yrs. Oh, they are good at campaigning, but that just proves my point. The longer they are in office the more they start to feel entitled to the job. Look at how the HRC machine is responding to the American people expressing distaste at their dirty tricks. More dirty tricks. Do they really think we are that stupid? As for the "he started it" statements from her professional advisers. GROW UP. Edwards and Obama attacked her on her positions, not her past. Does she really want to start that fight? And if she isn't wise enough to not take this advice then I would hate to see what decisions she follows along with in Washington.

WHERE TO BEGIN

I have started this blog in an endeavor to voice my opinion on U.S. politics as a whole, this coming election year in particular. I know not every one will agree with me, hopefully I can be impartial. I will try. Feel free to inform me if I seem to slip from that path.
